A Guide to Universal's water park, Volcano Bay

Embrace your inner Waturi and brave a visit to Krakatau, the 200-foot volcano, where you'll face the ancient fiery spirit, Vol. Thrill-seekers, brace yourself for gravity-defying plunges and the fastest water slides you've ever seen.

Universal's Volcano Bay offers the tapu tapu band which is how you do everything at the park. It's a wearable band that each guest receives. It can be used for cashless payments if you set up your card with the Universal Orlando app, scan into virtual queues for rides, or for other interactive experiences around the park. For the rides, when you walk up to a ride you want to ride, you scan your wearable. If it says Ride Now you can go ahead and ride the ride, but if it says a wait time your wearable will notify you when it is time to ride. There are also photo spots in the park that you can scan for photos with the band as well.

Volcano Bay offers lockers as well to hold your belongings during your day! You can find 5 different spots to get a locker. Each station has a kiosk where you can pay and sync to your tapu tapu band to open your locker.

Upgrades available during your day include cabanas, towels, express pass, and of course Coca Cola freestyle cups. Towels can be rented if you forgot to bring a towel. Express pass allows you to skip the waits for the rides with return times. Coca Cola freestyle cup can be used at a few locations at the park as well as universal's other 2 theme parks and 1 stand in city walk.

Cabana/premium seating options include 1 or 2 story cabanas and seats with a lockbox for any small storage items like a phone or keys, etc. The cabanas include these amenities: towels, padded lounge chairs, complimentary fruit and snack basket, small fridge, and concierge services. They also include a Guest Experience Transformation (GET) Tablet which allows you to join the queue for all rides at volcano bay right from your cabana!  You also have a concierge service that greets you and can order your food for you!

Premium Seating: Although it doesn’t come with an actual building to hide away in, it does come with a pair of padded loungers that are equipped with an adjustable shade canopy and a built-in storage lockbox. You’ll also receive an area attendant who will take your food and drink orders – and, yes, an escort who will show you where your reserved seating is when you first enter Volcano Bay for the day.

Transportation to the water park depends on where you're coming from. Cabana Bay, Sapphire Falls, and Aventura Hotel on property all have a walking path. The other Universal Hotels offer a bus service straight to the park. If you have to park from driving, you can park at city walk and take a shuttle from there to the waterpark.
